Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has picked Luis Suarez ahead of Fernando Torres when he was asked to pick between the two strikers. The Liverpool legend played with the two strikers at various times and he was asked to choose one while he was on the Robbie Fowler podcast recently.

Steven Gerrard played with Fernando Torres from the summer of 2008 till the Spaniard left Liverpool for rivals Chelsea in January 2011 in a £50m deal and Luis Suarez was brought in almost immediately as his replacement. Luis Suarez joined Liverpool to fill the vacuum left by Fernando Torres. Liverpool paid Ajax Amsterdam of the Dutch Eredivisie £22.8m to secure the signing of the Uruguayan international player in January 2011 and he was at the club until Barcelona came calling in the summer of 2014 in a £75m deal. Luis Suarez plays for Atletico Madrid at the moment having joined the Spanish La Liga leaders last summer, while Fernando Torres retired from football in 2019.<!--more-->
